Health and Human Services

Overview

The Human Services Division provides services to tribal members to improve their overall health and wellbeing which include: assisting them with obtaining and retaining employment, addressing barriers that prevent them from pursuing their self-growth and life goals, and basic work related training and mentoring to become self-sufficient.  Also, there is education and training available to individuals who work within tribally-owned and operated chemical dependency treatment programs.

Mission

The mission of the Human Services Division of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe is to provide a circle of quality services to elders, families and children within the tribal community by promoting self-sufficiency through health, wellness, employment, education, cultural identity, advocacy and training.

The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program is in development.

Tribal Employment Program

Chemical Dependency Treatment Licensing

The Minnesota Chippewa Tribe licenses tribally-owned and operated treatment facilities under Ordinance #19.
