Bylaws, Ordinances, and Interpretations
Bylaws of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe
The Minnesota Chippewa Tribe Bylaws serve as a foundational document outlining the operational processes and governance structure of the Tribe. They detail the responsibilities of the Tribal Executive Committee, procedures for meetings and decision-making, and guidelines for the fiscal and administrative management of the Tribe.
Adopted and certified in 1963, these bylaws are designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective leadership, providing a framework for how the Tribe conducts its affairs and upholds its constitutional principles. They include specific provisions for officer duties, meeting protocols, financial audits, and processes for amending bylaws, ensuring that the Tribe’s governance reflects its mission and the needs of its members.
For members, the bylaws are an essential resource for understanding how decisions are made and responsibilities are carried out within the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe.
